The Clark family of Wilhoit, Arizona is proud to be hosting the Nigerian Dwarf Goat Association’s Judges Training. The training will take place over the weekend of March 28th-30th 2014 at the Verde Valley Fairgrounds in Cottonwood, Arizona.
The training will not only offer the chance for participants to earn their NDGA judges license, but also the opportunity to audit the training. The audit allows Nigerian Dwarf goat breeders to gain insights into what a judge is looking for in the show ring and to have hands on practice with NDGA judges. “The audit is a great training tool for breeders to evaluate their own animals and make better decisions about managing their herd,” states NDGA Judge and Evaluator Dotty Clark.
The training will begin with classroom discussion and testing on Friday, March 28th. On Saturday, March 29th there will be a 2 judges- one ring NDGA show where participants going on for their judge’s license are invited to shadow the judges during the show. Participants are encouraged to bring their goats and have others exhibit them in the ring. The judges training attendees will then have the remaining part of the weekend to have hands on practice evaluating animals, placing classes and giving oral reasons of placements. Judges training participants will receive their evaluations and notification of a license if they pass the training on Sunday afternoon. There must be 10 participants at the training in order for the training to take place.
The price of auditing the judges training is $75.00 and the price for the complete judges training is $100.00. It is highly recommended that participants purchase their judge’s training manual and know the contents before taking the training. Judge’s training manuals can be purchased for $20.00 by visiting littlehoofshop.com/
We encourage those of you that may have not passed the training the first time to come and try again. It is a wonderful tool to bring out the best in yourself and your herd.
Our trainers will be NDGA Judge, Evaluator, and Judges Training Chairman Sandi Liska, and NDGA Judge and Evaluator Dotty Clark. .
